Following the release of the Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi D\u00e9cortiqu\u00e9 Low<\/a> comes the Maison Margiela & Reebok “Memory Of” Collection<\/strong>. Consisting of the Reebok Club C<\/strong> and Reebok Classic Leather<\/strong>, this collection is an expansion of the ongoing creative dialogue between Margiela<\/a> and Reebok<\/a>. These shoes are the first two of five new sneaker designs launching this Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the creative direction of John Galliano, the Maison Margiela fashion house interprets a series of Reebok classics through the namesake designer\u2019s signature concept known as \u201cthe memory of.\u201d This technique evokes the impression of familiar elements through the deconstruction of garments and accessories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this lens, Maison Margiela presents the Reebok Classic Leather<\/a> and Reebok Club C<\/a> with the original cross-check peeled off to reveal the punch-holes that once held its stitching. Both sneakers are made with premium leather and come in options of white or black. The Reebok Classic Leather \u201cMemory Of\u201d<\/strong> exposes the felt liner that is normally hidden from view, further bringing to the forefront the authentic construction of the sneaker. The silhouette is also stripped of its protective heel piece to reveal its notches and heel cap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Reebok Club C \u201cMemory Of\u201d<\/strong> reduces the leather elements on the sneakers including the heel tab, the cross-check, and the eyelet tab. Some elements are peeled off to uncover silver pen markings, which are a nod to the shoemaker\u2019s design process. Meanwhile other elements are cut down to their structural core by way of the decortiqu\u00e9 method. The shoe\u2019s original webbing is stitched along the side, while the Reebok logo is slashed in half and combined with Maison Margiela branding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Maison Margiela x Reebok \u201cMemory Of” Collection<\/strong> featuring the Reebok Classic Leather <\/strong>and Reebok Club C <\/strong>releases on March 25, 2022.
