The Nike “Move-to-Zero” series was founded to help protect the planet by creating products that use sustainable materials. For Spring/Summer 2022, Nike expands their “Move-to-Zero” series with a collection of Nike Sportswear, Nike Tech Pack, Nike Pro, Nike Air Maxes, Nike Classics, and the Nike Sun Club. As the series continues to grow season-by-season, Nike predicts that they’ll be able to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by half a million tons and divert 100% of waste from their extended supply chain out of landfills.

The Spring/Summer 2022 “Move-to-Zero” drop puts a big focus on the Nike Air Max, as the Air Max franchise accounts for over 50% of Nike’s footwear offerings. With this in mind, a lot can be done by making sustainable upgrades to the Nike Air Max. The Nike team was challenged with redesigning Air Max classics like the Air Max 90, AM95 and AM97. These silhouettes are iconic in their own right and are Nike’s most high-volume women’s models. They now feature uppers made with at least 25% recycled synthetic leather and 100% recycled polyester. Newer silhouettes like the Nike Air Max 2021, Air Max Dawn, and Air Max Motif are now made with at least 20% recycled content by weight.

For Nike Classics, many come to mind, but this collection highlights the Waffle, Blazer, and Dunk. Besides the signature pinwheel Swoosh logo, the Nike “Move-to-Zero” collection can be identified through names that attach “Next Nature.” For example, this collection of Nike Classics includes the Nike Waffle One Crater Next Nature, Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Next Nature, and Nike Dunk Low Next Nature. Each sneaker is made with at least 20% recycled content by weight and features recycled polyester, recycled synthetic leather, and Nike Grind rubber.

Typically when thinking of sustainable fashion, people have an outdated idea in their mind. They imagine that the quality won’t be up to par or that the designs will be lackluster. The Nike Sun Club sneaker pack debunks all those ideas and shows that sustainable options are just as exciting. The Nike Sun Club features recycled textile uppers, recycled synthetic suede, and recycled laces. The collection includes the Nike Air Max Pre-Day, Nike Blazer Low ’77 NN, Nike Air Force 1 LV8 NN, and Nike Court Vision Lo NN – all of which are made with at least 20% recycled content by weight.

Take a look at the full Nike “Move-to-Zero” Spring/Summer 2022 collection below.
