The “Cool Grey” Air Jordan 4 was the first “Cool Grey” colorway of retro Air Jordans to incorporate a color other than grey, white, or black. The first of this colorway was the “Cool Grey” Jordan XI that released in 2001 and was welcomed by complete mayhem at malls across the US. Following the Jordan 11, the Jordan 9 received the same treatment of colors, but the reaction was not quite as keen. The Jordan 4 Cool Greys were well received by the public and sold without issues at retailers thanks in large part to the colorway as well as the fact that these were only the second Air Jordan 4 to release in four years.
