Nike Air Trainer 2- By 1988 Bo was a clubhouse favorite for the Kansas City Royals. After a minor league stint with the Memphis Chicks, Bo became a key member of the Royals as a power-hitting outfielder. Nike was thrilled about his duel sport success and continued to use him as the face of their training campaign.
Taking cues from the Trainer 1, the Trainer 2 incorporated the same midsole and forefoot strap. To improve breathability Nike added mesh on the side panel and lowered the cut. Staying true to the training inspiration, the shoes were marketed as Totally Washable, meaning that they could be thrown in the washing machine with the rest of their work out laundry. Years later many popular retro make ups have dropped, most notably the pack Nike did in conjunction with streetwear legends Supreme.
