Dikembe Mutombo's first signature sneaker with adidas is finally back. Making its return on August 24th, the adidas Mutombo is resurfacing on its 20th anniversary. This adidas Original was first debuted during the 1992-93 NBA season, and is re-releasing in its original form. This classic highlights Mutombo's defensive playing style, and his African heritage by utilizing traditional African patterns throughout the shoe. The iconic shield logo that incorporates his jersey number of 55 is featured on the tongue to truly personalize this signature shoe.

After confirmation of the first release date for the adidas Mutombo, we now have more visuals of the adidas Mutombo collection. The giant's sneakers have been on hiatus for over twenty years, but the model seems to be back with Dikembe Mutombo’s defensive force. Following the OG Black/White-Red colorway will be a an all black nubuck version, a Black/Navy patent leather makeup, and White/Royal leather edition. Each one of these adidas Mutombos are set to release in 2014.
