The Air Jordan 1 "The Captain" Custom was made for a member of the Boston Red Sox, but pays homage to a New York Yankee legend. Made for Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino to honor Derek Jeter, Mache's latest custom creation continues the year-long celebration for The Captain. Utilizing the navy and grey leather upper of the Air Jordan 1, this one-of-one is detailed with "RE2PECT" branding on one shoe and a DJ emblem on the other, as well as custom lace locks. Taking the "Father's Day" rendition and bleaching the dark denim upper, this custom Air Jordan 1 puts a new spin on patriotic. The Lance Mountain x Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 was recently created to pay homage to the connection between the three parties, but this new custom concoction takes the collaborative effort even further. Dank Customs takes the model that was intended for personalization, with a layer of paint that wears off over time, and etches the silhouettes of the shoe's inspiration into the design. The white Air Jordan 1 set sees Lance Mountain's face on the royal left side, and Michael Jordan's silo on the red right. Gracing the black-painted pair is LM's "Vato Skull" logo on one shoe and JB's "Wings" logo on the other. Diddy now has a doctorate and a pair of custom Air Jordans to go with it. The well-known entrepreneur was awarded an honorary doctorate from Howard University, where he gave the commencement speech this past weekend. Diddy attended HU for two years before dropping out in 1990, but returned to speak to the newest class of graduates and acknowledge how the school changed his life. To go along with the privileges of the honorary doctorate and commencement address, the founder of Bad Boy Records was gifted a pair of Air Jordan 1 "Howard University" Custom sneakers to celebrate the occasion. Put together by Rich & Faded and Relevant Customs, this one-of-one trophy is dressed in HU white and navy and was spontaneously presented to Diddy. Tumbled leather uppers are detailed with "Howard" across both heels, and the school's Bison mascot in replacement of the Air Jordan wings logo. Diddy took to Instagram to pronounce that "Out of all the (jewelry) and sneakers I have, these by far are my favorite!"
