Sometimes the idea of “Being Like Mike” often means looking like Mike. While sporting his shoes show the most obvious similarities to that of the greatest hooper of all time, unfortunately such style has sometimes come with a heavy price.
“The Shoes” finds Carlyle Garrick exploring an issue that’s often hard to discuss. While much is made of ways to make sneaker releases safer, it’s tough to call how if at all possible it is to make sneaker violence following a purchase less common. Are sneakers the subject of violence because of their status-symbol steez or because of their monetary value? Is that all one in the same or does it derive at all from the pressure to fit in or feel cool?
