The brand also unveils its SKX Resagrip and SKX FLOAT performance models.
Skechers has officially announced its entry into basketball with New York Knicks’ Julius Randle and Los Angeles Clippers Terance Mann.
The announcement of Skechers Basketball alongside ambassadors Randle and Mann and their respective footwear arrives just days after it was reported that All-Star Joel Embiid was potentially signing with Skechers.
“It’s been an incredible experience working with Skechers,” Julius Randle said in a press release. “They’re new to the sport, so we have the opportunity to do exciting things outside the box in a positive and impactful way.”
Both Randle and Mann will be wearing brand’s latest performance footwear with the Skechers SKX FLOAT and the Skechers SKX Resagrip.
“I love that Skechers is an L.A.-based brand,” Mann said in the press release. “I can meet in person any time to talk about the shoes and really partner with them. They’re giving me everything that I need, and I’m looking forward to competing in Skechers.”
Skechers Basketball is the brand’s latest performance footwear endeavor as the brand also recently announced its addition of Englishmen and FC Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane with Skechers’ first-ever football boot. With Randle, Mann, and potentially Embiid, the brand looks to expand its sports presence even more.
The Skechers Basketball footwear collection will be available next week at select Skechers retail stores in North America, the Philippines and China. The footwear will also be available at SkechersBasketball.com. Additional colorways arrive later this fall and low-top versions of both styles will launch in Spring 2024.
