Plain and simple, adidas basketball is back. A variety of innovative designs came out this season dressing the likes of Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, and many other of the NBA elite. One of the models that caught the most attention are the adidas TS Heat Check. The uniqueness of their design and ambiguity of their player function have caused much curiosity. Worn by the likes of Michael Beasley, T.J. Ford, Nene, and Brook Lopez they have all-around appeal, but do they really perform? Snkrs Day put them to test on the hardwood and the blacktop to find out. Did they hold up? Read the review to find out.

Performance Review: adidas TS Heat Check

Strengths:
Court Feel
Comfort
Traction

FORMOTION technology makes these incredibly comfortable and secure from the first wear. The outsole mimics the shape of the foot and carries over to great traction and a very free feel. Another great touch is the collar closure system. This system provides great lockdown, ankle support, and a terry cloth type feel. There’s also an integrated lacing system with the tongue and collar so one can alternate between court and casual wear.

Weakness:
Forefoot lockdown
Cushioning Responsiveness

Weaknesses are few and far between on this model. A score of 85 speaks more on all-around soundness as opposed to 15 points worth of improvement. Forefoot lockdown is good but not fantastic due to the roomier toe box seen on many adidas basketball models. The adiPRENE cushioning is soft but not responsive.

Make no mistake about it: the adidas TS Heat Check is a great basketball shoe. FOREMOTION technology is incredible providing instant comfort and fantastic court feel. The score card shows that this shoe doesn’t leap out in many categories but its important to note that it lacks in none. Players of all levels, builds, and styles will enjoy this model; however, I see it being embraced most by the methodical wing player or spot up shooter. Give your usual basketball shoe a rest and try these. You won’t be sorry.
