It’s been a while since we’ve seen Packer Shoes and adidas come together. In 2018, the brands collaborated on the Packer Shoes x adidas Consortium 91/18, offering an updated adventure-ready training model. For their latest work, the duo revives a Three-Stripes archive model with the Packer Shoes x adidas FYW Intimidation.
Right away, eagle-eyed sneakerheads will notice the similar design details between the adidas FYW Intimidation and the Yeezy 500, as these shoes share the same sole unit. Ye borrowed the FYW midsole mold for the Yeezy 500 in 2018, which ultimately ushered in a new era for the now-defunct adidas Yeezy line.
Being that adidas Basketball is in a transitional period itself, it makes sense for Three-Stripes to put the spotlight on some of its throwback models, which has proven to be successful with the brand’s recent refocus on the adidas Forum silhouettes.
Packer reimagines the adidas FYW Intimidation in two retro-inspired colorways. One pair takes on a tonal Grey/White colorway, while the other adds some depth to the duo with Slate/Burgundy. Both iterations include a suede base, TPU cage, Black mesh tongue, and a yellow adidas Mountain logo on the ankle.
The Packer Shoes x adidas FYW Intimidation releases on May 5, 2023, for $140 at PackerShoes.com and Packer locations starting at 11 a.m. both in-store and online.
