Months ago, the rumor mill went a buzz with talks of an upcoming Off-White x Air Jordan 5 collaboration.
Suggested by @wavegod_thelegend and reposted by a variety of accounts, it certainly made sense that Virgil and JB would move on from the 1 and attack another silo after their previous success.
The Off-White x Air Jordan 5 does not have an official release date at the moment and is far from confirmed by Virgil’s camp nor Jordan Brand.
Still, leaked information as of late has proven right more often than not so that’s something to consider.
What’s being called the first leak of said shoe is seen above.
Perhaps a sample, perhaps a fake, perhaps both, the shoe relies more on new oddities than tried and true OFF-WHITE signature nods that in a strange way add some credence to the case of these being legit.
New leaks showcase said shoe sporting a deconstructed tongue/upper and Nike Air on the heel. While the holes and ripstop style material are the shoes calling card at first glance, it appears Virgil has slimmed down the 5 for a lighter, sleeker wear. The tongue appears to be somewhat heightened while “The 10” DNA appears on the shoelace language and medial sidewall blueprint branding.
Not mad at any of that.
Recent word from Sneaker Files suggested these could see the light of day at All-Star Weekend. This makes much sense as ASW 2020 is in Chicago – the hometown of Abloh and the Mecca of Mike.
However, new reports seen below suggest an April 2020 launch.
Also of note, 2020 is of course the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5.
Keep it locked to Snkrs Day for updates.
