Back when Kobe Bryant was just the baby Mamba, a Brandy-courting high school sensation at Philadelphia’s Lower Merion High School, he was weighing his options on where to suit up in the NCAA. As we all know, he’d end up foregoing intercollegiate play to enter the NBA, but Duke University was his choice school had he played college ball. Because of the special relationship between Kobe and the Durham, NC school, as well as the reverence Bryant has for Coach K, his Nike signature sneakers have long released in special Duke-inspired colorways. The Nike Zoom Kobe VI is no exception. The reptilian upper displays a Varsity Royal hue, as do the semi-translucent outsole and liner. Completing the upper are a black tongue and heel, while a white midsole sits underneath. With March Madness only weeks away, there could be no better time for this Nike to hit shelves than this weekend on March 5th. Select retailers will be selling this Blue Devil doozy, including Snkrs Day in Austin, Texas for $130.
