Alongside the “First Use” collection, Nike is launching the “Exeter Edition” exploring Jeff Johnson’s creative process. In 1974, Johnson was sent to Exeter New Hampshire to, help Nike find a creative edge with dwindling manufacturing resources. This offering of the Nike Air Max 90 retells how he established a consumer audience on the East Coast.
To start, the silhouette receives a colorful build made from 15% of Nike Grind materials on the outsole and forefoot. Returning elements are mesh, suede, and rubber materials. Completing the look is an “Exeter Editon” tag wrapped around white laces. Faced with limited and recycled resources, Johnson ended up created vibrant and colorful silhouettes that were uncommon at the time.
Releasing soon at Nike and select retailers for $130. For now, take a look at the latest images below, and be sure to hit up our sneaker release page for news and updates. Until next time keep it locked here at Snkrs Day.
