With what would’ve been Kobe Bryant‘s 46 birthday over the weekend, Nike and The Bryant family celebrated the Mamba with the Mamba Invitational in Los Angeles while showcasing two new Air Force 1s, including the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Kobe Sheath” colorway.
Worn by the Bryant daughters, the Air Force 1 Low is reminiscent of the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Kobe” that was worn by Bean during his industry-changing sneaker free agency period. The white, purple, and gold AF1 will release this year.
The new pair, however, takes the storytelling up a notch as Kobe’s “Sheath” logo is embossed throughout the upper including the toe box, leather overlays, and heel counter. A gold Swoosh with purple outsole accompanies the pair along with a min-Swoosh on the eyestay. Additionally, the Lakers’ purple and gold hue is found on the laces that accompany the pair.
In addition to the all-new colorway, Vanessa Bryant wore an all-new Nike Air Force 1 Low “Kobe Snakeskin” colorway.
As of now, it’s unclear if either pair is a Friends & Family Exclusive or will be a retail release. If releasing, expect the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Kobe Sheath” to drop in the upcoming months via SNKRS and select retailers.
