Jordan and the Chicago Bulls beat the Seattle Supersonics 4-2 to secure the team’s second-three peat.

Michael Jordan’s legendary Air Jordan 11 “Bred” from the 1996 NBA Finals sold for nearly half a million recently with its $482,600 closing bid.

The game-worn and signed Air Jordan 11 in a size 13.5 features Jordan’s signature on the white midsole with creases as the pair was worn in the penultimate game in the 1996 Finals.

Jesse Sluyter, who was a Seattle Supersonics ballboy and worked the team’s home games during the 1996 Finals, obtained the pair.

During Game 5 Michael gave me two tickets to one of the NBA Finals games and said bring your mom and dad.

Later on after Game 5, the equipment manager of the Chicago Bulls asked Michael Jordan who his shoes were going to, he said “That ballboy” (me) and my best friend.

The pair would go on to be etched in basketball and sneaker history as Jordan and the Bulls secured their second three-peat and his Airness would be crowned NBA Finals MVP for the fourth time.

Since then, the “Bred” Air Jordan 11 has been revered as one of the most beloved original Air Jordan 11 colorways, last released in retro form in 2019. However, the “Bred” Air Jordan 11 legacy continues this holiday season with the upcoming Air Jordan 11 WMNS “Bred Velvet” colorway.

Take a detailed look at the pair below.
