While Yeezy Season 1 appears to still be in full swing as the apparel and its surprisingly high (though not 100% confirmed) prices were recently showcased, its sequel may be coming sooner than we think. As New York Fashion Week begins and collections for next spring/summer are previewed, it appears the first glimpse at Yeezy Season 2 comes via Kim Kardashian and some fashion forward, female focused beige heels.
Though knee-high heels may not be exciting to sneakerheads, this is actually pretty cool. Years ago, Kanye’s first fashion show came in the form of a women’s collection and this sees real growth and even more ambition for his very big fashion dreams. Ladies have warmed up well to the made for men but very gender neutral adidas Yeezy Boosts, and for guys at home, it’s likely Yeezy Season 2 will come with a color story meaning the “Beige” 350s should come out Spring/Summer 2016.
This also shows how far Kanye is willing and wanting to take it. During his Yeezus press run when far more of the talk was about fashion goals than the very disruptive album and second to none tour, Kanye spoke on becoming ‘the Tupac of fashion’ and competing with Wal Mart. In terms of having big goals, creating womenswear makes his vision all encompassing. With the support from his wife, he certainly has the right help to reach those goals.
While the term ‘influencer’ may be extremely overused and hold very little weight in the sneaker category, it couldn’t be more appropriate for that of the Kardashian camp and the power they have to move the needle on beauty and fashion — some may disagree, but it’s almost impossible to argue. Just the same, Kanye is one of the few people who holds similar stake in that of the men’s sneaker category, also changing trends with every wear in men’s fashion just the same.
There have been talks of Yeezy Season 2 debuting in theaters this weekend much like Yeezy Season 1 was live streamed from NYC this past February. Keep it locked to Snkrs Day for more updates on the upcoming Yeezy Season.
