Kids Of Immigrants and Nike are teaming up with the Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder.
The Los Angeles-based streetwear brand was started in 2016 by Daniel Buezo and Weleh Dennis, first-generation immigrants who have strong ties to their respective heritage and cultures as Dennis is Liberian-American and Buezo is Honduran-American.
The brand has worked in previous Nike campaigns and will release its first footwear collab with the Swoosh this year with the Air Max Sunder.
Originally released in 1999, the Nike Air Max Sunder was hailed as a futuristic silhouette and stood out due to its sleek design composed of neoprene upper, secure heel lock fit system, full-length Phylon midsole, and visible Air units.
Nike retroed the model in 2022 with the help of COMME des GARCONS with the three-pack COMME des GARCONS x Nike Air Max Sunder collection. The shoe, celebrating its 25 anniversary, will release with in-line colorways and collaborations with the Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder arriving soon.
The upcoming Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder features the shoe’s signature neoprene upper with a new look as a cage-like TPU covers the majority of the shoe. A gradient transition from light triple to dark blue headlines the shoe while an orange pull tab, gold mini-Swoosh, suede grey on the toe box, and a black outsole complete the design.
A release date for the Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder has not been disclosed, but we anticipate the pair to release in 2024 via SNKRS and select retailers.
