Nike Air Max Fly By TB
If my apartment was burning in flames and I could only grab one pair of shoes, it would be my Nike Air Max Fly By TBs. Forget the valuables, I believe in memories over materials, and these represent one of my best times of my life. They’re the shoes that Nike sent our Oakland University basketball team when we made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2011. They were a part of the “Chain Link” Collection that were made exclusively for the Big Dance. I remember walking into the locker room on selection Sunday and seeing them in everyone’s locker- they were the first pair we got that actually included our school colors of black and gold. Laced them up the very next day for practice, and then in our first round game against Texas. The next two seasons, Drew Valentine, Travis Bader and I would break them out again for special occasions. I’ll keep this pair forever, and not because of the shoes, but rather the irreplaceable memories that they represent with my Golden Grizzlies family.
