Vans Era
So this particular pair of Vans Eras may not be the prettiest pair of kicks in my closet, in fact, they are far from it, but I can tell you know that will never, ever part with this sneaker! We first met six or seven years ago when I was in high school, and I found them on the back wall at a Vans outlet store for $20. Back then, I was pretty much strictly wearing Air Force 1s, so a pair of Vans was kind of a reach for me, but copping was a decision I have never regretted since.
With a simple, toned-down black/white color scheme, this pair of sneakers went with just about all of my clothes, and they quickly became my go-to sneaker. They were just so versatile. I could lace them up for casual wear, skate them, and even get a little dressed up for the club in them. I definitely had some wild nights in these bad boys, and I’m sure there will still be more to come.
My Vans Eras have definitely seen better days. The glue around the midsole has now yellowed, and they have a fairly large rip in the toe-box, but they still have plenty of miles left in them, and my full intentions are to wear them until they just can’t possibly take anymore. There would be no point in selling them, because they aren’t worth anything to anyone except me, and I wouldn’t trade the memories I’ve had in this sneaker for anything.
