Overall: The Jordan CP3.VI AE is an exceptionally solid basketball shoe with few flaws. Snug lockdown, cushy Podulon cushioning and long-lasting traction make this pair a go-to wear for the guard that likes to run.
Though the CP3.VI AE doesn’t pack the next level technology or design showcased on the Air Jordan XX8, the shoe doesn’t suffer from a lack of it. While the CP3.VI AE doesn’t register the firm ‘A’ grade or ‘game changer’ tag garnered by the XX8, its lack of bells and whistles make the CP3.VI AE easier to play in and also more accessible to a wider range of hoopers. For a shoe that I wasn’t a fan of at first run or even at first sight, the Jordan CP3.VI AE won me over.
Run and gun point guards will find favor with the CP3.VI AE. The low cut design, Podulon cushioning, tight fit and tough traction take well to the court general that relies on speed and turns on an axle. While 1s will be most won over by this model, I don’t think the CP3.VI AE is limited to those that play the point guard position. Podulon proves firm and cushy enough for the bigger player with higher impact steps. With bigs also leaning more towards low top wear and inside-out game, the shoe has the potential to dress a whole roster, but probably still won’t be championed by the back to the basket center. All in all, the Jordan CP3.VI AE is a great wear at the point guard position and suitable for all perimeter players. Already on sale in an array of colorways, its a worthy purchase for the price that will suffice for summer runs both indoors and outdoors.
The Jordan CP3.VI AE is available now at the Snkrs Day Shop by phone order (512.320.8100) for a price of $95.
