Joining the likes of Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard, John Wall is the newest signature athlete on adidas Basketball according to The Washington Post. Originally signed by Reebok as the #1 Draft Pick out of Kentucky back in 2010, Wall supported ZigTech models during his early days with the Vector both on court and in commercials. In 2013, John Wall made the move from adidas-owned Reebok to that of the Three Stripes, serving as one of the main faces for the adidas Crazyquick and Crazyquick 2.
Following a breakout 2013-14 season that saw Wall’s first appearance in both the playoffs and the All-Star Game, adidas is rewarding his hardwork with his own shoe. While name, price and release details are unknown, this model was seen for the first time during Wall’s recent runs with Team USA in preparation for the FIBA Games. Though Wall did not make the guard-heavy squad, his shoe debuted in patriotic tones, featuring his logo most notably on the midsole. Styling on this silo shows many similarities to the adidas D Rose 773 III, sporting slightly simpler lines, bold branding and what looks like a mesh upper. Tech specs are unknown at this time, though it looks like this model won’t host Boost cushioning like the brand’s big pushes with Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard and the remaining roster members. In addition, the shoe is said to launch in October and will eventually drop in lifestyle colorways, according to The Washington Post and Wall.
