The FILA 96 “OLY” is one of the most recognizable sneakers of the 1990s, and now it is being given some of its due credit. Known by the Grant Hill II, the actual ’96 Olympic that Hill wore in the 1996 Olympic games where the USA Basketball team took home gold will be inducted into The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto. Loaned to the museum through 2017, this piece of basketball history will be showcased around the entire country and Canada. The ’96 “OLY” is the first FILA shoe to be included in the museum’s tour. A weekend of events has been laid out for the September 28th induction, which entails guest speakers and “SOLEcial Studies”.
