Name: SSgt Adam Pagan
Branch: United States Air Force
Years in the Service: 16
Originally From: Bronx, NY
Currently Stationed: Morón Air Base, Spain
Snkrs Day: Do you notice a difference in kicks worn in the various places you have been stationed, visited, or people you come in contact with being in the military?
SSgt Pagan: Up until I moved here to Spain in 2012, I really didn’t notice that big a difference. Being here, it is increasingly obvious that the love of Nikes and Jordan shoes are not as prevalent here, which makes it harder to purchase my shoes. The biggest brands here are PUMA and adidas, but I wont let it stop me from searching and finding other options.
Snkrs Day: What do you attribute your love of sneakers to?
SSgt Pagan: The “G.O.A.T” himself, Michael Jordan, dazzled me and did his thing on the court back in 1991. I was a freshman in High School when he won the NBA Finals vs. the Lakers in his Air Jordan VI, and since then I have had a love of his sneakers. Over time it has since grown on me more and more. The fact that my wife supports my passion is even better. Knowing she accepts me the way I am keeps my love of her and my sneakers a sustained driving force for me.
Snkrs Day: What’s your favorite shoe or model of all time?
SSgt Pagan: Air Jordan 13 is my all time favorite shoe model. The comfort and look of the shoe has always impressed me. I have eight different 13s, both low and high top.
Snkrs Day: What sneaker would you consider your grail or a shoe you regret missing out on?
SSgt Pagan: My current grail is my Air Jordan 6 “Carmine”. I’ve worn them only once to a sneaker convention in Atlanta, but someone stepped on them and am now scared to wear them again.
Snkrs Day: How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
SSgt Pagan: Well over 100 shoes ranging from Jordan Brand to Puma, Reebok’s, and various Nike models.
