The rumored Air Jordan 4 “Rare Air” will be the latest installment within the lineage of Air Jordan 4s, bringing back early-2000s design language to the legendary silhouette.
Originally released in 1989, the Air Jordan 4 is celebrated for its design by Tinker Hatfield and for Michael Jordan’s on-court performances, including “The Shot” against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The upcoming colorway continues the Jordan Brand legacy of connecting basketball history to cultural history by reintroducing the “Rare Air” series.
In 2006, Jordan Brand issued the “Rare Air” series, a nod to the exclusivity of Jordan releases with the “Rare Air” branding on the bottom of the tongue’s removable patch. The upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Rare Air” (and upcoming Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air”) colorway evokes the “Rare Air” detailing that tells the story of Jordan Brand’s heritage.
The pair arrives with a black nubuck upper, grey suede on the toe area, a sail midsole, and red & grey outsole. The signature “Rare Air” velcro tongue patch will make an appearance as well.
The Air Jordan 4 “Rare Air Laser” is rumored to release on July 1, 2025, for $215 via SNKRS and select retailers.
