A new-aged classic is returning as the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” is rumored for 2025.
Originally released in 2006, the stealthy all-black Air Jordan 4 became a must-have for Jordan enthusiasts, sneaker collectors, and fashion-forward individuals. The “Black Cat” nickname derived from Michael Jordan’s sleek, elusive playing style, which inspired the clean, monochromatic colorway. The nickname and corresponding colorway have been a staple since the early 2000s as the “Black Cat” Air Jordan 3 was released in 2007 and is rumored to release in 2025.
The 2020 retro of the “Black Cat” Air Jordan 4 arrived at an interesting time for the Air Jordan 4. The all-black colorway sat at retailers and some pairs even made their way to outlets with discounted prices. The pandemic and the Jordan boom that followed The Last Dance led to the rise in popularity of the colorway, skyrocketing demand & aftermarket prices.
Now, the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” will make another appearance to meet the demands set by the 2020 version. Although details of the 2025 version are scarce, the pair is expected to arrive in its signature monochromatic build with premium nubuck materials
The Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” releases in 2025 via SNRKS and select retailers. A price point has not been disclosed.
