Yesterday, we ended the day with an Air Jordan 2012 unveiling post, which featured release dates, quotes from Tinker Hatfield and extremely detailed images. To begin today, we give you a full, in-depth recap of the actual Air Jordan 2012 launch event, which happened yesterday at the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. Upon being led to a side entrance (which featured a shining Jumpman logo to the right of the door), we were greeted by flight attendants who checked us into the event.

Moments later, Air Jordan 2012 co-designers Tom Luedecke and Tinker Hatfield (wearing the “Oregon Ducks” Air Jordan 3) joined us and began introducing and discussing the Air Jordan 2012 design process, aesthetics. inspirations and Michael Jordan’s feedback on the finished product. Specifically, Hatfield stated that he began the sketching process on this shoe in November of 2010 and that he started the process while simultaneously doing architectural work for the city of Portland. Tinker also stated that his first couple of Air Jordan 2012 sketches took him about an 30-45 minutes each. Later on in the conversation, he and Tom Luedecke went back and forth on the difficulties of designing this shoe and the constant effort to incorporate modularity in the Air Jordan line.

After a quick Q&A with both, we were led to the baggage claim area of the airport in which we received a premium Cole Haan x Jordan Brand leather bag to begin our wear testing of the Jordan 2012.? The bag featured a pair of Air Jordan 2012s with each flight option available and a few accessories, such as a Jumpman varsity hoodie jacket, a Jumpman Dri-Fit and a pair of Jordan basketball shorts.

Next, we hit the basketball court with professional trainer Idan Ravin who took us through a number of strenuous drills before playing 5-on-5. Lastly, Jordan Brand had a few computers available for us to preview the Air Jordan 2012 on NikeiD. Overall, Jordan Brand put on an incredible event. The attendance of Tom Luedecke and Tinker Hatfield, having it at the Teterboro Airport to connect with the “choose your flight” theme, wear testing and the iD preview all played big roles in a successful event.
