A cult classic returns as the Air Jordan 10 “Steel” is rumored for 2025.
Originally released in 1994, the Air Jordan 10 marked a significant moment in sneaker history as Michael Jordan stepped away from basketball to pursue a career in baseball. The “Steel” colorway, with its clean white and black design and distinctive steel grey accents, quickly became a fan favorite and has turned into a relic for many.
The “Steel” colorway, with its unique toe cap design, has always been a topic of debate. The original release featured a distinctive toe cap that set it apart from other models, but it was later removed in subsequent releases, causing controversy among purists and collectors. Despite this, the shoe’s clean white and black leather upper with steel grey accents has consistently made it a favorite.
With previous retros in 2005 and 2013, each re-release of the “Steel” has reignited discussions about the toe cap and its place in sneaker history. The 2025 edition is expected to bring back the polarizing toe cap, staying true to its original design and offering purists another chance to own a piece of Jordan Brand history.
The Air Jordan 10 “Steel” is rumored to release on July 19, 2025 via SNKRS and select retailers.
